IELTS Speaking Module

Google

The IELTS speaking part should be the easiest part of the IELTS test. It lasts from 11 to 15 minutes.

There are usually 3 parts to it. In the first part of the IELTS speaking module, the candidate is asked general questions like how are you. Where are you from (Country)? Why are you taking the IELTS test? Do you have a family? What university do you intend going to and why did you choose that university?

This section lasts for 4 – 5 minutes. Use it to relax and feel very free when answering. You must have practised this section with a friend prior to coming for the exam. During your preparation, try to pronounce your words distinctively. Do not rush words when speaking. Maintain your pace, and sound natural.

The second past of the IELTS speaking is involves you taking about a certain subject. It may be a description of a place or experience. This may last for another 2- 3 minutes, with you having 1 minute to think about what you may want to speak about. You may decide to make note and jot down points you may wish to speak to about.

Finally, you would discuss an abstract topic with the examiner for about 4 – 5 minutes.

Again, like in all other parts, if you must do well in the IELTS speaking module, you must be seen to have prepared well by the quality of your answers. Speak distinctively, look into the examiners eyes when talking, and never panic.

Amazon provides a good range of IELTS speaking practise books and material at good prices too.

If you choose, and if you can afford it, you could practise speaking, and listening with the latest language software called Rosetta Stone English (UK). The three modules set costs about $330.00
