Permit Free Visa
Permit Free Visa...Who Can Get It
There are certain categories of employment that do not require a work permit.
These include working in the United Kingdom by foreign nationals as minister of religion, writers, composers, artist, teaching and language assistants, employee of foreign governments, doctors and dentists in training.
If you are looking to do any of these jobs, then you will not need a work permit.
Permit free employment is more popular amongst international non-EU doctors.
Once they pass their PLAB exams, they were able to apply to the Home Office directly for a permit free training.
No more so.
Since 19th of July 2005, all applications to the Home Office for permit free for overseas doctors must be accompanied by a signed approval form from the respective regional postgraduate dean.
The London Deanary has issued the following statement
Permit Free Training (PFT) visas will not currently be recommended for the following roles:
Ad hoc locums, to work as and when gaps appear
Locum SHO posts for less than 3 months
Honorary unpaid posts
Clinical attachments (for which there is a separate visa)
SpR LAS less than 3 months
Any other irregular non-training post."
