Treasury Business Manager

The role

The Treasury Business Manager will be required to co-ordinate, drive and execute all aspects of the regional Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) process in Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA). They will have responsibility for some regional ALCO processes in AsiaPacific (AOAC). In addition, they will have oversight on all local treasury and liquidity processes.

Main accountabilities

To perform this role the candidate will need to have a comprehensive working knowledge of treasury related regulations set by each jurisdiction within the EMEA and APAC regions.

 Responsible for running EMEA ALCO process including setting the agenda of the monthly EMEA ALCO meetings, co-ordination, preparation and distribution of ALCO pack. This requires a solid understanding of the regional issues as this role will be responsible for ensuring that relevant issues are addressed. Also responsible for ensuring execution of decisions taken.

 The Treasury Business Manager will be responsible for setting up the regional ALCO process in APAC. Once implemented, the Treasury Business Manager’s responsibilities will be similar to the EMEA ALCO. This role will require travel in the region.

 The Treasury Business Manager will be responsible for developing and producing effective management information which will be used by the International Treasurer, Group Treasurer, International CFO and other senior management to manage the international treasury function.

 The Treasury Business Manager will be responsible for ensuring that international legal entities meet all regulator compliance matters, in particular with respect to the new FSA liquidity guidelines.



 The Treasury Business Manager will be a member of the EMEA ALCO, APAC ALCO (when created), EMEA Liquidity Standards Group and will work with closely with Corporate Treasury New York in co-ordinating liquidity policy for the regions.

 The Treasury Business Manager will oversee that local treasury and liquidity processes are set up and working effectively.

 The role will be responsible for ensuring Local Contingency Funding Plans are in place, up-to-date and approved by Regional ALCO. The role will also support in the development of local and regional liquidity crisis plans.

 The Treasury Business Manager will be responsible for providing Treasury support to regional business projects and initiatives in EMEA and APAC such as acquisitions, consolidations, transfer pricing issues.

Candidate profile

The individual will have prior relevant experience in international treasury environment and possess expert knowledge, judgment and problem solving skills. In addition they will have excellent written and verbal communication skills

The individual will also possess a strong understanding of international money markets in EMEA and Asia Pacific and have strong understanding of corporate treasury and balance sheet management in multiple locations and diverse markets. It is also imperative to have a strong understanding of liquidity management best practices.

A deep knowledge of full range of treasury products is essential as is prior experience/ dealing with international regulators and regulations. It will be a given that the individual will have prior relevant experience working within a treasury function and international experience is required.
