GOT IELTS TWICE
by KAYE CRUZ
Hi. I am a registered nurse from the Philippines and I worked for 2 and a half years in a hospital. I took the IELTS twice and my scores were as follows:
FIRST TAKE: Listening 7.5, Reading 7, Writing 7, Speaking 6.5, Overall band score= 7
SECOND TAKE: Listening 7.5, Reading 6, Writing 7.5, Speaking 7, Overall band score= 7
Both of the IELTS results are still valid until now.
Am I eligible for the Overseas Nursing Program?
Hoping for your response. Thank you.
Hello Kaye Cruz,
The NMC regulation s require that you have an overall score of at least 7.0 in the IELTS with a minimum of 7.0 in listening and reading, and 7.0 in writing and speaking.
Lifting this directly from the NMc website, this is what they say:
"You must complete the academic version of the IELTS test and achieve:
At least 7.0 in the listening and reading sections
At least 7.0 in the writing and speaking sections
At least 7.0 (out of a possible 9) overall"
All should be in one sitting. I can see that you have achieved the desired requirement in two seatings, but that is not acceptable to NMC. You can contact the Nursing & Midwifery Council directly on 020 7333 9333.
I hope this is of help to you Kaye.
Thanks for your enquiry.
